Learning Objective: To help healthcare professionals comply with NIOSH training and the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard which limits occupational exposure to blood and other infectious materials
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is an occupational hazard for any healthcare worker who uses or may come in contact with needles and other sharps. The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard and NIOSH Recommendations are designed to protect workers who may encounter blood or other infectious materials by limiting exposure to these infectious agents.
