Program Description
Learning Objective: To outline evidence-based infection prevention practices and protocols for cleaning and disinfecting high traffic and treatment areas in the clinic, physician office, and treatment center
Because patients with a wide range of illnesses are seeking immediate or convenient treatment in ambulatory care centers and retail clinics, pathogenic organisms, including drug resistant MRSA, are certain to be present. This is why these outpatient settings require the same quality cleaning standards as hospitals!
Based upon the latest protocols by AHE, guidelines by the CDC, and federal requirements by CMS and OSHA, this effective program provides an in-depth demonstration and explanation of evidence-based cleaning protocols for high traffic and treatment areas in medical clinics and offices.
In this program we will discuss:- How to properly clean and disinfect reception and waiting rooms, exam/procedure rooms, restrooms, and MRI suites
- Preparing supplies and stocking the cleaning cart
- Incorporating safety issues into daily practice, including: appropriate PPE, hand hygiene protocols, preparing and using cleaning chemicals, and guidelines to ensure electrical safety
